Our seminar programme for October 2010 focuses on Trusts and Accounting Careers. It's also a big month for our clients as the new GST rate comes into effect and we're keen to help you navigate the changes with our free 30 minute GST reviews.

Thursday 21 October 5.30pm - 7pm
Prue Anderson one of our directors and an expert in the field of trusts will run an informative seminar on Thursday 21 October 2010.

Prue will be exploring why you might consider establishing a trust, how they work, and different types of trusts. She'll share some examples and scenarios from her experience. There will be an opportunity for questions during the seminar and time to chat with Prue afterwards.

Prue is experienced in the set up and maintenance of local trusts and works with Bryce Smith as part of our Rawlinson and Hunter team of foreign trust specialists. She also offers advice and mentoring for new business and enjoys working with community groups in a governance and advisory role.

We think accountancy offers fantastic career opportunities and we're pleased to extend an
invitation to accountancy students and their parents or adult students to learn more at an open evening at our offices.

There will be a short presentation from recent university graduates who have just started their professional accountancy careers, and from recently qualified chartered accountants who will talk about daily life in the profession as well as opportunities abroad and in other business spheres.

The evening will be hosted by Prue Anderson, and all the presenters will be available at the end of the session to answer questions.

We appreciate times are tough, so as we all face the biggest changes to the tax system in 20 years we are exclusively offering our clients a free 30 minute appointment in person or over the phone.

During the time we will discuss your transitional GST return and answer any questions you may have about your first GST return after 30 September 2010. If you are using the payments basis you will need to bring in a schedule of accounts payable (what you owe others) and accounts receivable (what others owe you) as at 30 September 2010.
