Murray Carey
| As a new graduate Murray worked as an Auditor in Brisbane before returning home to Wanganui in 1979 to join what was then Kenneth Smith, Doyle and Co. He became a director in 1981 and in 1988 the name of the practice changed to Carey Smith & Co. Murray specialises in Audit, Taxation, and Corporate Restructuring, and enjoys working with iwi to develop their financial and business interests. He has been a member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants (NZICA) since 1977. Murray loves the great outdoors and when he’s not ‘on the job’, you’ll likely find him ‘on the water’ making the most of Whanganui’s fantastic river as a long-time active member of the Aramoho-Wanganui Rowing Club. He is also a surfer and sailor and enjoys socialising over a glass of Central Otago Pinot Noir. |
